First steps

Technical prerequisites

LSF works best with Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 and higher under Windows and Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.2 and higher under Mac OS. Should you use other browsers like Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome, it is possible that these programs will warn you that the page is not safe. This is due to the fact that our security certificate is unknown to them. However, you can simply accept this and set LSF as an exception.

Please note that your CampusLMU login is case-sensitive, i.e. you need to take capitalisation of both username and password into account.

If you are not sure, you can find the exact spelling of your username here:

  1. Open the LMU-Portal in your browser.
  2. Log on with your CampusLMU account (usernames are not case-sensitive in this context).
  3. Choose Benutzerkonto.
  4. Under E-Mail-Einstellungen, you will find the header E-Mail Informationen with your e-mail address. The part before the @ is your username.

Logging in

Open the LSF login page in your browser.

Logging in comprises three steps:

  1. Enter your CampusLMU user name ein (i.e. your campus e-mail without "@campus.lmu.de", "@lmu.de").
  2. Enter your password.
  3. Click the Login button. You will then see the LSF homepage.

Structure of the LSF homepage

After logging in, you will se the LSF homepage.

In the first line, you can see links to your homepage and to log out. What is more you will find personal details, e.g. name, username and role.

In the top right corner, you can change the semester and the language (either English or German).

In the left column, you will find all the functions, which are available as a student; they will be illustrated and explained on the following pages.

What is more, you will find boxes with the most important conacts for each of your programs, as well as periods for course registration.

Technical advice

  • Timeout

In order to access certain pages (like course registration), LSF needs a so-called Active Session. If you are inactive (i.e. you don't click on any links) for a 10 minutes or longer, you are logged off automatically, which is due to security reasons.

  • Changing into a different semester

If you look for courses and/or want to register for them, it is important that you choose the correct semester. In order to change that, please use the link in the top right corner.
